Ugh, missing it..

It's totally irrational, I have absolutely no time to give, but I am finding myself missing the patrol car more and more. The worst part is that I left on such good terms from my last department that I'm told its a flick of a pen to bring me back.

Argh!

Sounds like you have your answer.

Yup, what he said....

Time machine?

Bren 11-15-2012 08:25

I've heard to 2 people, in my life, who quit being a cop to be a fireman. I'm assuming that's what you did. I still don't understand why anybody would do that.

Nah, I've been a fireman for 14 years. 5 years ago I went to the academy to do some cop work on my off days. Earlier this year I was hired by a critical care helicopter EMS company which ate up my off days and quit the PD.

Wait........ a hosemonkey and a helicopter hero......... oh brother, you do have it bad..

I hear ya man! I got out for about 18 months and never was really happy. This job is like high quality blow, one you get hooked nothing else will satisfy you.

Can't reserve? I'd try not to let my license lapse but it sounds like you have a decent gig for adrenaline.

I'm pushing mid 40's so maybe I'm getting too old but I found policing ain't the end all be all especially in today's climate. That said, I'm approaching 22 years in it. Loyalty of the employee/employer relationship seems non-existent.

Loyalty and staying with one agency nowadays is for chumps or golden boys who have it made on the fast track.
