Having trouble finding a Gen 4 21; offered a trade for a 21sf
They have been selling out like crazy in my area, and my dealer has a hard time keeping them in stock. Here is my dilemma: I have two M&P 45's, and my buddy has a 21sf that he has never fired. He offered to trade me straight up for one of my M&Ps. I am wondering if I should trade for the SF (I hate trading guns usually) or wait for my dealer to get more Gen 4s in. I have Gens 2,3,and 4, so I know the difference. I am debating on holding out for a gen 4 21 or making this trade for the Gen 3 SF. I would appreciate input from those who own, or have owned both. Thanks for your time. Frank.

I didn't like the grip on the 21 at all. Felt like a 2 X 4. The SF was just slightly better. The Gen4 21 feels MUCH better and, as you know already, comes with 3 mags. I would wait for the Gen 4 21 and get the new RSA.

I had a Gen3 and sold it to purchase a Gen4. I couldn't be happier with the decision. Wait for the Gen4!

I have new G21 Gen4. Have handled a G21 SF. I much prefer the way the G21 Gen 4 feels in my hand plus I like the mag release on the Gen4 alot better.

Will have to go against the grain here.
Owned Gen3 21's and all were sold and replaced with 21SF's. Bought a LE Gen4 21 in hopes of loving it, 1400 rounds later I didn't and sold it. Sans any backstraps, they are exactly the same size. It's my opinion that Glock rushed into the Gen4. To me the backstraps look like a poorly designed after thought. And I actually prefer the recoil impulse of the Gen3 to the Gen4, I'm talking specifically the 21's. As far as the mag release, been shooting competitively for 25 years, with Glocks since 1994, the regular old mag release has served me well. These of course are just my personal opinions. |
I like both, but prefer the Gen 4 grip, and love that mag release.

I have a 21SF w/RTF frame. I had access to a number of Gen4 21s before I made my decision. The reason I chose the Gen3 is because of the tried/true spring AND the grip size is the same as the Gen4. The RTF frame isn't for everyone, but I like it. The grip with my small hands is superior.

I have no use for the 4th gen glocks.

I'm issued a Gen 3 Glock 21. I purchased a Gen 4 with my own money to carry. That's how good they are. Dont trade, buy a gen 4.

If you have two then I'd definitely make the trade. To me it'd be about how often do I shoot both M&P 45's.
|
I would make the trade, especially since you already have two M&P's.
