Hungarian AMD-65 is a BEAST!!! What's your favorite AK-47/variant?
I (finally) got my Hungarian FEG AMD-65 about a week ago... And I must say, it's a BEAST! Seriously, it's light weight, impressively accurate, high quality, looks great, short & is low cost... What more could you ask for!?
I honestly feel it is the ultimate AK-47 variant. I will be giving it a sleek tactical makeover soon, but wanted to show it off stock first. I also wanted to put together an AMD-65 shooting video unlike any of the others on youtube. It's pretty dang cool, with first person shooting angles and others! So here it is! Check it out: If you own an AK-47 or Variant, & think it's the best, tell me why! But let's make sure to keep it a good conversation, not an argument :wavey: Thanks! |
Sorry, but Norinco is the best! Everyone knows it!

TGG Although, there are many that are close: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...G_1107-1-1.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...31081641-2.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...4501208271.jpg |
I handled one of these at my LGS yesterday. The price was $500 and some change. How much did you pay for yours?
I wasn't sure if I liked the slant to the fore grip. |

Once I get my quad rail back, I have a magpul shorty foregrip that's going on. I do like the slant though. It's good for handling. I just don't care for the look of it that much... |
Great pics

What makes the Norinco's better than any other high end AK?
If two AK's are put side by side, shoot through 1000rnds, both without any failures, and both being just as accurate.... and can do so over many many years of use... What makes the Norinco better? Besides milled/stamped receivers... which is very debatable. I ask this because pretty much everyone with a Norinco looks down on most other ak's... kind like H&K owners... I know their reliable and good quality, but what do they hold over others that really makes them worth their steep price? |
Norinco's are sweet. Mak-90's are a pain in the butt. If you happen upon one without the thumbhole stock chances are it's not 922r compliant. I've owned two Century Arm's AK's and they have worked perfect. The AK world is a strange one. Cheap AK, expensive AK....they all work.

I'm thinking about getting one. How hard is it to mount a red dot scope on these?

Chinese copies are some of the BEST guns in the world! In some cases they are better than the original from which they were copied! The only thing better is a true Russian assault rifle (select fire). TGG |
My Polytech AKS first then any Norinco Second.

Nice video. Though for the next one, can you show your final shooting position from the other side so that I/we can watch the brass eject?
/picky, I know |
Bad C-Dog, Bad! Don't you know the 2 Cardinal Rules? 1) Romanians Rule, and 2) NO MUSIC IN SHOOTING VIDEOS.
 ;) |

-RustyShackelford, Thanks! & I will definitely do that! Thanks for pointing it out! There won't be any shake in the camera either.... do to a new mount! -Jade Falcon, haha I think you've got things a little backwards  and no music would put my videos too close to all those other's online! Trying to set videos apart these days is getting more and more difficult... almost everything's been done! |

They're not parts kits put together by people of dubious skills AND they're pre-ban. |

My AMD 65 was BUILT in Hungary by FEG. And then imported. It has all matching numbers and is one solid, perfect functioning AK. Quote:
Did you do the wood re-finishing yourself? Looks great. I like it! |
I gotta go with Norinco. I love my converted MAK 90! Its my end of the world gun!

I have had good luck with my Chinese AK's. That said, there have been batches with brittle parts. The only chipped trunion I have ever seen was in a Chinese AKM, and so was the only broken bolt I have ever seen.
My preference is for Bulgarian and Russian AK's. My single favorite is my Krebs AK74k, though that is about to change. I am in the process of buying a Class 3 shop. One of my top priorities is to have one of my AK74u kits built. That's my holy grail rifle. |
Norinco! I love my MAK90 with regular blonde furniture--no thumbhole stock!

There damn nice guns! Trust me, I'd buy a Norinco too if they were lower in price. Right now I couldn't justify one at all |
What I really want to know is this: Where in the hell did you get those shades?
