Change of Heart

I was doing some work on my 2gen g19 and ran across a post here at GT about mfg dates and serial #s. The post I read was a couple of years old but mentioned a three letter code after the serial # on the barrel. Mine does not have these letters. My serial # is LY ###. Is this something special or am I just missing something? And how do I figure out the date of manufacture?

Thanks in advance and God bless.

You are referring to the barrel test fire date code on GLOCKs with Austrian proofs. If you do NOT have Austrian proofs, then you will not have the 3 letter date code that is found on the barrel part that shows by the ejection port.

The 3 letters represent the barrel test fire date code:

The first letter is for the month:
E...Jan
L...Feb
N...Mar
B...Apr
S...May
Z...Jun
G...Jul
P...Aug
I...Sep
C...Oct
V...Nov
A...Dec

The last two letters are for the year:
O...0
W...1
K...2
R...3
F...4
M...5
H...6
Y...7
T...8
D...9
