Just finished this one.

Nice job, what product did you use to coat it?
|
Nice looking pistol. What did you paint that with? And how is it holding up for you on the edges and on the plastic parts?
|
That looks very good man!

Not that custom, just digi camo, but it was the first one I saw in person. It was duracoat in ACU camo.
|

No camo on the pistol, but if it bothers you, I will remove the post.... |
no worries! I was just wondering if there was a second gun in the pic with some badass camo that I totally missed! LOL

I wish I had a contact to share with you but I don't. He was a gunsmith at Gander Mountain. They were downsizing the services and wanted him to travel farther to a different location. That way they would send jobs from multiple stores to a centralized location. I was told he moved to Nebraska.

The camouflage is camouflaged! hence why you can't see it haha |
Here's a pic of my G-19 custom camo. I had it done in Peoria Az. I will be glad to give you the 4-11 if you wish. I had him change one of the standard camo colors to blend with the OD frame and he also did the LWD barrel with that color. After this photo was taken I added a Laserlyte rear sight.

Nicely done.

I bought some Norell's moly resin finish. It uses a badger airbrush to spray on. you preheat to 100deg and paint, then bake at 300 deg to set the finish. The 1911 was the first I did. I was having issues (operator :embarassed:) with the spray gun, so you can see a few places where it sort of 'spit" the finish. I free handed the cammo portion.
On the Saiga, The base coat came out great. I used 3 x 5 cards to cut out patterns so you can see the overspray from that. I tried tape, but it left sticky residue and I didn't want that baked on. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...Picture003.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...Picture005.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...Picture007.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...Picture006.jpg |
