10mm Commander?
 

Hi all. I'm new here and am looking for some advice...
I would like to have a commander size, stainless, 10mm 1911.
Custom or semi custom in the $2000-$2500 range.
I was considering a Fusion... but I've read that some people were unhappy with their recent offerings.
Any ideas or links to good a smith?

Right now the only choice you have for a 1911 commander in 10mm is Fusion. I did contact them a couple of weeks ago about a build and was told something around 20-24 weeks, which along with the comments I've read recently on quality and not meeting the delivery schedules made my decision not to go with them a little easier.

I've contacted NightHawk and was told:

"[...]We build any of the full size pistols in 10mm<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
We can not find a stout enough recoil spring for proper reliability in the commander size pistols in 10mm.[...]"

The only option I found for a commander in 10mm is to have a full custom.

If you can find one, I recomend the Dan Wesson CBOB. I love mine in 10mm. I think they only made them for two years. Verry likely the most comfortable and accurate 10mm that I have tried.
