I test-fired it the same day I got it, with factory Armscor ball, it had some failures to eject and one failure to extract, but this was probably because I fired it out of the box without lubing.

This is how Colt 1911s are made; the old-fashioned way for the most part:

Thanks. I was initially aiming for the basic model, but when I factored in the cost of the parts to modify it to my tastes, plus smith's charges, it turned out to be more expensive than, say, the Combat Elite, and the Rail Gun is only P3k more, so might as well... The other gun I considered was the Lightweight Government but it was out of stock.

I hope they will bring in the Series 70 too.

i also looked at the goldcups they had in stock. i liked it because of the 100yr anniversary engraved on the slide but not to get it because its stainless.

i think there's a store that has the 70 series in stock. pero mas mahal ng 10k shooters ata, nakita ko nung gun show.

Mine doesn't have the "100 years of service" rollmark, but I think that's probably because it left the factory in 2010, at least that's what the manual said (Copyright 2010). The rail's better looking than the "babalu" type in other 1911s of this type.

It was Shooters that displayed those overpriced Colts though that didn't faze some folks, there were two Lightweight Commanders in stock, one on display, and by the end of the gunshow both were gone.

I'm considering using TW-25B for this new pet of mine. Do you have any feedback on it?

mtho 02-01-2012 08:58

Whats a tw25b?

Eye Cutter 02-01-2012 15:35

adenine 02-01-2012 19:48

:wow: very nice pistol bro CatsMeow! like it!

CatsMeow 02-03-2012 01:34

Thanks! Unfortunately I plumb forgot to apply for a PTT with Armscor the day I test-fired it, when I finally did so days later I was told it would be ready Thursday.... next week, so it will be next weekend that I can resume testing it, more so that, unlike a Glock, it apparently needs some breaking-in.

On the other hand, I should go whole hog and get a PTC for it... anyway it will be only next January that the gun ban for the 2013 elections (not that it really helped) will be implemented.

MAJINKONG 02-03-2012 03:37

WOW... at last!
Congrats Sir Ady.

Noon una panahon na may Colt XSE pa ako,
Birchwood Casey ang gamit ko lube because of Teflon content.
Lots sa Armscor MCS.

any updates on the 9mm single stack?? parang ok din na project yan. Choices for a simple build is the Norinco and Armscor 9mm GI. The only problem I see are 10 round mags. I haven't seen any locally

CatsMeow 02-09-2012 01:59

Reminded me of the Glorietta guards' magazine-less Armscor 1911s, turning brown...

 I have seen other malls doing this too. I think Trinoma too. Looks like SOP for Ayala Malls

Eye Cutter 02-09-2012 04:35

Parang type ko kasi yung GI serrations eh and no front serrations. How much is the Norinco 9mm?

But looking at Bro Zens project parang ok din ginawa niya sa front serrations :)

Eye Cutter 02-09-2012 05:41

i think it's around 10k + license.

95% finished na doc! for coating nalang. can't decide whether to tighten the slide to frame fitting kasi magagasgas lang yun finish sa slide (under the scallop) if i don't. we bought the norc for P14,600 + licensing

Baka mauna pa 1022 project ko! :whistling:

boholglock 02-09-2012 18:43

CM, nindota ah!!!! Congratz!!!

Pwede ba railed 1911 sa Single Stack Classic Division/Category?
