Would you be able to post pics of the SAM 1911s that would be displayed in the coming gun show? They had new machines that arrived in the past months, and Rhone de Leon said that they will be using forged billets for their receivers. |

I just got the Norinco this week for my first 1911 project: a 9 mm. precision pistol that, hopefully, will be accurate enough for PPC and other precision pistol competitions.
Federal calls it the N29N model, distinguished from the N29 by the addition of an ambidextrous safety, extended and oversized magazine release button, broader slide rack grooves and a slide top that's flattened and stippled. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/02.jpg |
Detail shot of the extended and oversized magazine release button:
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/05.jpg The extended button can be screwed off to reveal a standard release button: http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/07.jpg |
The slide top has a peculiar tire tread-like stippling pattern. It appears to have been rolled or stamped on instead of being milled.

Detail of the grip safety and rubber mainpsring housing. Note that the grip safety is starting to show signs of rust after only a few hours of handling. The blue finish is cursory at best. This pistol will inevitably require a more durable finish.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/14.jpg You can see the tool marks at the back of the frame. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/21.jpg |
@taurus-Nice,Planning to get one too. Ilang mag ang kasama sir?

You don't find the words "Made in China" on this pistol. Instead, the letters CN serve to suggest the origin of manufacture. The other side of the slide is completely blank.
http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/13.jpg The rollmarks appear to have been inscribed by some industrial "dot matrix printer". They are shallow and can be easily sanded out. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...Normann/23.jpg The shallow rollmarks, the thin blue finish, the lack of significant inscriptions and the total absence of a clear origin of manufacture are probably consistent with the marketing strategy of offering this model as a base gun for a 1911 project. In fact, Norinco's dealer in Canada, Marstar, enthusiastically suggests this: "Though they work great right out of the box, the Norinco 1911s are popular with custom gunsmiths and competitors who recognize the potential of their rugged forged (not cast!) steel construction." |
its nicer that i thought it would be, makes me want one for my self. laban mo kaya sa all steel yan i'm sure youd find the recoil fantastic.
