IDPA video: Central Florida Rifle Pistol Club.

Hello all... went to a great IDPA match at CFRPC. If you were on my squad#5 and you would like some video of yourself just let me know... As of now only "Joe" has asked me. I got about 1 1/2 hours worth of video on the infamous pink camera.

My final score for the match was 154.55 (27PD) (0 PE) (0 NT) (0 FN)

Let me know what you guys think... good or bad... I really do look like an idiot on stage 6 which is the second one in the video... although my score on that stage... says different...

Its in Orlando, Florida just south of the Orlando airport. Probably the coolest shooting club I have ever been to.

Excellent! I'll have to try and convince the wife that the next Disney vacation we take should include some 'down time' around an IDPA match!

My wife and I often talk and joke about just picking up and moving down there; now I know there is a good place to shoot, boy you never know!

that place does look great; nothing like a club that fully supports all it's different shooter's interests.

You would LOVE IT, we shoot a monthly IDPA match there. But honestly here in FL if you can afford it... every weekend somewhere there is a pistol shoot you can goto.

That would be incredible! Don't think it'd take much arm twisting on my wife's part to look down there if we ever had the opportunity to move.

With the success our local IDPA club is having, I hope that they'll move to do something at least twice a month or maybe have another local club start another IDPA shoot on their off weeks.

Yea I like that also... I just found another club that has a weekly IDPA match every thursday. Its like a 90 mile drive for me but heck if I'm dying to shoot and can't wait for our monthly match I'm going to be there.

Like our april match is cancelled for the Sunshine State Games IDPA and I cannot play because they arent letting unclassified shooters participate. No biggie... I need to find a classifier... because I was sick in Feb when our club had it and I won't dare show up sick.

omg call Bill Wilson, I spotted an illegal stage less than 1 second into that video! :tongueout:

I wish we had props like that at the places I shoot though.

Haha nice... but the Steel stage isn't part of the IDPA scores its a seperate club steel challenge.:tongueout:

I thought everything had to be shot from cover at first but... in all reality you might find yourself in a real life situation where the only cover/concealment you have is the clothes your wearing lol.

All in all your post made me smile! I dig sarcasm! and the occasional ball buster :wavey:

I was just happy that split popper in the middle didn't kick my butt... like the GSSF steel stage did...:crying:

You can have a stand and shoot without using cover in idpa, but you can't have a stage with all that steel and no paper targets.

Stupid iPhone

Oh I didn't know that... you learn something new everyday. I guess thats why they called it the "Steel Challenge" and I found it scored seperatly from the regular IDPA stages.

Coincidently I ran a time that would have put me 9th place overall on the steel if I had been a member at that time. I'm a member now so have to see if I can replicate it when it counts.:faint:

Yes, there is a maximum ratio of steel-to-paper found in the IDPA rulebook.

Short version: In the longest possible IDPA stage with 18 rounds required, no more than four of them can be on steel.

This is a rule that we violate occasionally at the local, club level. We have a full Steel Challenge setup here that's always hanging around, and every once in a while there's an all-steel stage.

It's nice to travel to a major match where you find 4 distant poppers, and not be among the guys who are worried the instant they see it.

I believe in May there will be a classifier match at CFRPC.

Thanks man I will be looking into that...

This is an old one! But the subject is current. We have a Classifier when there is 5 Sundays in the month, normally.

Last month we (CFRPC) had the steel, off IDPA rules shoot, 18 steel targets, poppers big and small, two 1' square plates, all at over 25 yds. Three colors of steel, red/white/blue.

Three shooting boxes, color coded. You had to move to get all the plates, I had no misses! Had to put a bigger ball cap on. Gen4 Glock19.

My regular club is Hernando Sportsman's Club on the west coast (FL) but I love CFRPC and the folks there. I go there for a GSSF match each February and then go help out at their annual Ladies' Day in March. Heck, I may 'know' some of you who are posting here.
