-if you know why 30-06 is pronounced "thirty alt six"
Can you please explain why?
it was originally made in 1906.
and it was designated "thirty caliber of 1906". Because there previously existed an earlier .30 cal round.
it was shortened (who wants to say all that) to "thirty of '06" (pronounced 'oh-six').
then eventually became "thirty alt six".
just easier to say i guess, but i'm no historian. that's just what i heard.

I was thinking about putting a gun rack on my sons big wheel......
Whaaat?! It doesn't already have one???
David, I resonated with the one where the guy arrested, "had 200 rounds of ammunition". Except the true gun nut wonders if the paper meant that he had 200 guns. The same gun nut wonders if the guy who the paper says had 10,000 rounds of ammunition immediately assumes the guy only had one gun, cause that's on the low side of what's a normal amount, but you can't look down on a guy for that cause, "hey, maybe the guy was poor."
