why a 1911 in 9mm? Defeats the purpose doesn't it?

I've shot at Newtec only twice, both times last year. At the two day IPSC state selection match and the one day super sunday match.

I haven't done much shooting away from my local club, I'm at Newtec Pistol Club (Newcastle), unless you have been to Newtec I'd say the odds of us having shot together are a bit slim. I'm more into service match these days with some of the other regulars to the club. If your ever up this way and want to go for a shoot, give me a bell.
