Grew up a cowboy until age 15, enlisted as Aviation Cadet Oct 23, 1943, went to USMA at West Point 1945 . Resigned, went to med school, volunteered for another 2 years for Korean War, surgery residency Wayne County General Hospital (Detroit) .
