Americans are beginning to recognize the disturbing similarities between President Obama and the fallen Richard Nixon, but the comparison that may matter more is between Mr. Obama and King George III.

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance,” in the words of the Declaration of Independence.

King George’s assault on the Americans’ natural freedoms was oppressive, intolerable and deserving of a revolution. The truth is, the intrusion, restriction and outright harassment that our government subjects us to today is far beyond what the colonists faced from their tyrannical king. If it was tyranny in 1776, then, by God, it is tyranny today.

Over the course of his epistle, Obama repeatedly defended Islam as he has done so frequently in the past. In the process, the president continued to demonstrate his lack of understanding of global terrorism by reminding us that we must contain Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and other terrorist organizations throughout the world.

As the president sees it, these groups are the enemy.

He is wrong. It is not just a group or two. Islam is the enemy. Not radical Islam, but Islam itself.

Does it really matter whether the London killer was Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah or Muslim Brotherhood? As Hillary Clinton might ask, “What difference does it make?” What matters is that the perpetrator(s) arbitrarily beheaded another human being in broad daylight in the streets of a major international city in the name of Islam.

What other religion in the world does such horrendous acts in the name of its faith? Name one. In most societies what happened in London earlier this week would be outright murder.

Not in the world of Islam.

There were times this past week when it seemed like the 19th-century Know-Nothing Party had returned to Washington. President Obama insisted he knew nothing about major decisions in the State Department, or the Justice Department, or the Internal Revenue Service. The heads of those agencies, in turn, insisted they knew nothing about major decisions by their subordinates. It was as if the government functioned by some hidden hand.

Clearly, there was a degree of willful blindness in these claims. However, the suggestion that someone, even the president, is in control of today’s government may be an illusion.

The growing dominance of the federal government over the states has obscured more fundamental changes within the federal government itself: It is not just bigger, it is dangerously off kilter. Our carefully constructed system of checks and balances is being negated by the rise of a fourth branch, an administrative state of sprawling departments and agencies that govern with increasing autonomy and decreasing transparency.

I wanted to alert you to breaking news about True the Vote and our ongoing fight with the IRS. We’ve been harassed and jumped through hoops for three years - and now the nation knows our story.

True the Vote’s attorneys filed a lawsuit against the IRS in Washington this morning. Our demands are simple: give TTV an answer to our tax-exempt application, and tell us who knew we were being targeted.

We have proven over the years that citizen engagement can change the way we operate our elections for the better. Today, we’re taking our culture of accountability straight to the heart of Washington.

This is going to be a major fight – but the truth will come out in court.
Whats fun for the family? Young kids (11, 9, 7) so were looking to visit the Lexington and the aquarium. Any interesting local flavor?

Were making sure the kids know what Memorial Day is for, to remember those that died for us in defense and service to our great country.

Hey all,

I'm in the process of backing up files on my desktop machine to do a miniISO install of Ubuntu 12.04 w/ LXDE. I did this on my laptop machine already. So, I transfer files to a USB stick and try to open them on my laptop. Non-encrypted files open fine. When I try to open files that are encrypted with Seahorse from my Ubuntu 10.04 desktop, on my Ubuntu 12.04 laptop with LXDE, it asks me what I want to open them with. So, I select an appropriate app and instead of asking me for the pword like it does on the 10.04 machine, it simply doesn't open the file.

I went to Synaptic and isntalled one of the the Seahorse apps listed there and it didn't change anything. Also, on 10.04 using the GUI it came with (GNome?), I can right click on a file and it will give me an option to encrypt it or decrypt it. There is nothing showing on LXDE when I try this.

I am left with the fact that at this point, if I do my Ubuntu 12.04 with LXDE install on my desktop, I will not be able to open my encrypted files since it won't work on a machine I have already set up like this. Can Seahorse be made to work with LXDE? Should I decrypt the files before backing them up and then find a new way to encrypt them once the machine is set up? I prefer to use Seahorse since it has worked simply for me up to this point. If it is not a workable solution, what other encryption system is simple to use? I am not a CLI guy, I need a simple GUI to encrypt and decrypt my files.

I don't need ulta-high level encryption. This is just typical homeowner stuff that wouldn't want "regular" people to see. I'm not dealing with crucial classified information or anything like that. Just tax returns etc.

Bardstown is not far from here, and the chief is a retired LPD officer who strongly supports his own officers. Rick McCubbin is also a former U.S. Marshal (not deputy - THE Marshal) and from all accounts, is a stand up guy and a great boss.
Hope the suspect dies a painful (and slow) death. Just saying.

When President Obama told a black audience years ago that black men needed to be better fathers the response from Rev. Jesse Jackson was to criticize him for talking down to black people and whisper that he deserved to be castrated.

Now the president has done it again.

Speaking at graduation ceremonies at Morehouse College in Atlanta last weekend the President said it is time to stop using racism and discrimination – though they still exist – to excuse bad personal decisions that block success.
ROMANO: I think it just came to another boiling point right now. [Obama] ran on this in 2008, and if you recall, when he came into office, there was a lot of turmoil within the White House. His then-counsel, Greg Craig, was pushing to close Guantanamo; he set a date that they couldn't meet, and it ended up being a really bad political tar baby for him.

Tar baby is considered a racially-coded, derogatory term, especially when used in reference to black Americans. Since the arrival of President Obama on the national scene, left-wing media outlets like Politico have relentlessly attacked conservatives as racist for merely using the word Chicago.

Apex AEK review

Well my new AEK kits arrived today. First impressions, this is an extremely well thought out and manufactured part. The poly version is very...

Well my new AEK kits arrived today. First impressions, this is an extremely well thought out and manufactured part. The poly version is very comfortable with the rounded edges compared to the aluminum version. It also looks as if it was part of the pistol from the factory. IMO this is how they should come.

The kit comes with the trigger, slave pin, and a heavy sear spring. I tried the heavy sear spring and it was a tad too heavy for my tastes. I used the AEK trigger pad, and all other fire control parts are stock. I haven't gauged the pull, but it feels exactly like a stock Glock trigger as far a pull and break weight.

Installation was a breeze, took about 10 minutes total including trigger loop adjustment time. As with most Apex trigger kit installs the loop had to be adjusted slightly to engage the sear correctly, no surprise there, and no problems.

When your finished, what you have is an M&P pistol with a Glock trigger. The pre travel is less than factory, but more than the FSS kit. The over travel is less than factory and a hair more than the FSS. This setup is perfect for a duty or HD weapon. Three other officers, die hard Glock guys tried it out tonight and they are going to be looking into an M&P and this trigger setup, it is that good. IMO this is a must have for any of the new production M&P pistol.

As an added bonus, I tried little experiment with the factory trigger, and the Apex trigger. I raked the trigger guard and trigger with my fingers, hand, and misc clothing material. I was able to induce one ND with the factory trigger and a shirt. I was able to disengage the trigger safety tab on the factory trigger several times.

The Apex trigger did not yield the same results. I was unable to induce an ND, and did not one time disengage the trigger safety tab. I am not saying the Apex part will prevent an ND incident, but IMO can reduce the odds. I have tried tons of aftermarket doo dads over the years. Some were ok, others silly at best. This is like night and day on the M&P. Now if you would like a Glock type trigger on your M&P, get the AEK, and enjoy. If you hate glock triggers, stay away from it, cause there is no in between. Personally, I am thrilled, since the hinged trigger was the single biggest gripe I had about the M&P. I also think the AEK just makes the M&P look better. The hinged trigger has always just looked out of place. The sigma burned that trigger image into my mind, and I have never been able to recover.....

Just remember I am a professional idiot only, and this was my opinion, take it as such.

understand that i don't usually handle firearms while drinking. it's one of those things i try to not do.

unfortunately living out in the country sometimes mother nature dosen"t care if i've clocked out for the day or not.

my new neighbors just drove off the last u-haul truck around 2pm today. i haven't spoken to them yet or even made eye contact yet.

now here it is right around 2;20am and my dogs are going ape****, as in their barks and growls are the real deal and i need to check this out. they don't see a raccoon in a tree a few yards away, something is in their yard and they want it and want it bad!

i grab the .22 and the flashlight and head out to see what the commotion is all about. there's a possum pacing along the fence about 10 feet away from the actual fence. considering there are 4 dogs in the pen losing their minds wanting to get at this critter and he/she is just casually pacing back and forth i make the assumption something is horribly wrong with this critter and it should be eliminated.

i maneuver around until i have a clear shot and i put a round through it's skull. then i figure it's close to 3am and i've already fired a round i might as well function check my neglected 10/22 and pump another 9 rounds into the critter.

the possum is dealt with and now i get to see if the new neighbors are going to complain tomorrow or not.

i've got a decent backstop, and this is the country so i hope these are country folk and they're used to gunfire because i shoot out here semi-regulalry. if they're city folk and they have a problem with gunfire things are gonna get tense.

Ok, so I am always curious how cars drive over larger vehicles in accidents.

So the other day I was driving my 4x4 on rt 95 and a young man texting was in lane 2 and i was in lane 4. All of a sudden I heard beeps of horns and then I noticed this little Corolla coming at a high rate of speed crossways across the road..so when he hit me my truck went sideways in the rear and it looked like he hit a motorcyclist because my mirror showed something up on the side of the truck coming towards me...it was his car..:wow: He had a two tone paint job on the front of the car and it had driven up my larger tire to attempt to get on the back of the truck. So his car fell off when I moved the steering wheel but I have learned how strange things happen when people text and drive. :dunno:

With my dad being injured and unable to work anymore, he has spent the last 1-2 years sitting at the house, bored out of his mind.

He took a great interest in GLOCK pistols and has bugged me to death about them.

So . . . I joined and paid for his membership, too. We will be attending our first match in Montgomery, AL in a few days. :wavey:

Not sure how well it fits, was an assignment for one of my classes

I was born in virginia, barely west of D.C.
I’d strut about the land, confident that I was free,
I never knew the meaning of the word tyranny,
Till I had become a man

One december a mad man brought death to a school,
his deed was known throughout the land before the bodies were cool,
the paper’s called for action from every voting fool,
and we lost the Right of Man

We turned in our rifles and put out trust in the state,
defenseless to the violent, we’d surrendered to our fate,
by the time we’d realized our mistake, it was far to late,
and we were sorry men

A couple years then went by, and the victims numbers grew,
the many and the strong, became the weak and few,
they put a man in power, not knowing what he would do
and they all hailed the Man

He demanded that we Give, he demanded that we change,
all we could do was rattle cuz we’d given in our fangs,
but then all who rattled, were silenced and hanged,
The only left were broken men

I'll sing this to my future sons, hoping they will grow to be
Patriotic and proud, more of which this country needs,
They'll find a way to conquer the criminals and thieves,
When they all become men

#1) I was on the lookout for a Glock 26 for some time, and low and behold found one for $545 out the door at a gun show of all places.
So here is my first question, mine included the beaver tails, my father also purchased a black 26 a few weeks ago that did not have them. Google is not really turning up an answer as to why his did not have them..?? Why??

Question #2. I have thought about trying to improve my accuracy using a cheap laser (only used for aiming practice). Is there a Cheepo Chinese laser that I can put on it? I don't want to spend the hundreds of $$ on a real one I just want to practice dry firing or close fire range tests using the laser, so who cares about quality..

I am having trouble with accuracy, I can shoot mites off a rats butt with my ruger mark Ii .22. But always shooting low right or high with my 26. Tomorrow I will be practicing with dummy rounds, so hopefully that helps. But a laser would be nice. Any help would be appreciated,
