I am looking and thinking 'hey, dot, hey, laser, that could be fun - hey, not that much money'.

But it's hard to find serious reviews (I've found a bunch of joke ones) and I'm a little leery due to the naming (thinking they might be shooting for people who will go 'OMG Counterstrike I played that game *sweet*' on a marketing level - and marketing like that makes me worry a little).

I'm just kind of looking around trying to figure out what I want while I practice shooting an AR w/ iron sights (on the 40 rounds of ammo the range will sell me when I go ... :/ ).

After following your excellent works on the legal risks associated with self defense ,I have a couple of questions related to the topic of litigation...

After following your excellent works on the legal risks associated with self defense ,I have a couple of questions related to the topic of litigation associated with "hair trigger" handguns.

One; when carrying a "multi mode"DA/SA pistol like a CZ75 or Taurus PT92,is it best to carry it in double action or is it appropriate to use the factory included ability to carry with the hammer back and safety on-with the specific qualifier that no modifications to the trigger have been done?
The risk at hand I'm seeing is of an opportunistic attorney claiming that instead of 'responsibly' carrying with the hammer down the citizen recklessly carried a 'cocked pistol' with its attendant connotations of manslaughter via accidental firing as well as the 'Rambo Gun Owner' shibboleth.

With the 1911 and Browning P35 the counter is of course that they're not functional defense guns if the hammer is down, but that defense does not apply to the CZ and handguns like it which can be fired with the hammer down.

My second question is related to the first ,but consists of a personal dilemma.I own a 92FS Beretta and was officially trained on it when I was in the military ,so in the event I use it for self defense I can ably prove in court that I have some background with the pistol.Because I live in a state which doesnt require a CCW class to get a permit ,there are almost no certified instructors who teach in my area given there's no demand for their services,so getting documented instruction requires a plane ride to a different state. As such ,I don't have a documented training record for my only other handgun,an EAA Witness 10mm.While I have great personal confidence in my ability to safely carry and use the Tanfoglio for self defense,am I better off carrying my 9mm due to my documented record with it?I recently took both guns to my private outdoor range and ran some self defense drills ,with the outcome being that I can ably shoot both under the clock if need be.

Thanks in advance for your consideration, and I look forward to your response.

After numerous studies, including one by UC Berkeley (big time liberal) stating that micro-stamping does not work, Calif. is now making it law. Hopefully most gun makers will just write off Calif as a customer. That might get their minds right. Then, maybe not.

A while back we replaced the shower head in the master. The plumbing in the wall is CPVC or whatever is supposed to be there for water, its the plastic stuff. I have a female fitting in the wall that the metal rod that the shower head mounts to screws into. The kind that bent in the middle with male threads. Now the issue is at the point that its tight and doesn't leak its off by a good 90 deg and leaks down the inside of the wall when I turn it back to where it needs to be for the shower head to work. No amount of tape helps. I need a sealant that will work with plastic and my metal rod and will set up and hold this thing and stop my leak.

The top of the shower is tile, that's no longer available and I REALLY don't want to tear it out to replace the female plastic piece. So what will work??

Hi Mas, I have watched your video on efficient reloads with a revolver using a speedloader. I have used speedstrips to practice reloading a Ruger LCR 38spl. and although faster and safer than carrying a pocket full of loose ammo and easier to conceal than a S.L., it looks like speedloaders are better, at least faster(In your hands!). Do you have a favorite ? I haven't seen any specifically for the LCR; would you have any recommendations or do you think speedstrips are a viable alternative?
Thanks, David

I wanted to share a pic of my latest build from Carver Custom (B&B Enterprise). This is my new G34 open USPSA / Unlimited div. GSSF gun nicknamed the "Challenger". Since I decided to start shooting 9mm major in USPSA instead of 40 I figured a new build was in order. I used a 34 because of the forward weight of the 5.3" barrel and the extended tungsten guiderod I installed. I figured this along with the highly efficient Carver 4 port 9mm compensator would give me a ultra fast gun with little to no muzzle flip and/or recoil. To offset the weight of the longer slide I had Bobby Carver do some lightening cuts, 4 "Mitchell ovals" per side with inlay and radius cuts gives me a slide weight similar to that of a G19. So my cycle rate is very fast. I used the new Carver RTS mount and CMore RTS on this one as well. It gives the same sight picture as a CMore slideride but has the added advantage of being a micro dot so it will not interfere with ejection. I am using a Carver 2# Super Sport trigger which is simply amazing. It's light with no pretravel and very little over travel. I just wanted to share with you guys. Bobby Carver and Carver Custom are huge supporters of Glock and the GSSF as well as all other shooting sports. If you're interested in a build you can message me and I'll be happy to guide you along. :-)
I LOVE THIS GUN!!!

...minor complaint/vent, nothing more.

I had knee surgery, and last Tuesday my surgeon said "Get thee to the gym, post haste!!"....and after sitting on my arse for about 7 weeks, I have.

Back to lifting and rehabing the knee....

And straight away (as I have posted about before), my sleep goes form 8 hours a night, to around 4-5, like it always does when I'm hitting the gym. Just something about working hard at the gym and lifting that kills my ability to sleep. So I'm sitting at work in the "drone zone".....not really tired, but not really awake.

So, I just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening.
Unlike most condo's the grassy area around her front and back porch are the homeowners responsibility. She isn't really the outdoors type so the grass around her back patio has gotten a bit thin.
I've never really put down any grass seed before. I imagine I can figure it out without too much trouble but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice on seeds/brands to use.

I know this is not a problem alot of you have run into but I need advice. I need to know if any of you are armed while swimming and what techniques you use to be prepared. Like, where do you store your gun while swimming?

Being an FFL my address and name is published by the ATF as such. So, I am armed most of the time I am home. I know some may see it as paranoid and that is fine. However, I would rather been seen as paranoid and be prepared to protect my family than be unprepared and have harm come to them because of my side job.

I have an above ground pool that is buried 80% of the way in ground. When we swim, we all swim so nobody is left in the house. I have a good safe and all but one is locked up while we swim so nothing can be stolen in a smash and grab but should someone chose to approach us in the pool, I would like to have options to protect my family. So, any recommendations?

Not sure what thread it was but here a while back Countrygun mentioned that he had a take down mode 1897 Winchester pump that he was thinking of cutting down. Got me to thinking about mine. I hardly ever shoot the old thing since it is so old, plus it has a longer barrel on it with a Weaver choke stuck on the end of it.

Well anyway, got to looking at it, and fiddling around with it and lo and behold it is a take down model. Were they all takedown guns?

This is the story of the blonde flying in a two-seater airplane with just the pilot.

The pilot has a heart attack and dies... She, frantic, calls out a May Day.

"May Day! May Day! Help me! Help me! My pilot had a heart attack and is dead.

And I don't know how to fly. Help me! Oh my God, Please help me!"

She hears a voice over the radio saying:

"This is Air Traffic Control and I have you loud and clear. I will talk you through this and get you back on the ground. I've had a lot of experience with this kind of problem.

'Now, just take a deep breath. Everything will be fine! Now give me your height and position."
She says, "I'm 5'4" and I support Obama."

"O.K." says the voice on the radio....
However, I'll be in North Carolina and then South Carolina for the next 6 months for work and school. I believe I cannot buy a handgun at a gunstore unless I have it shipped to an FFL in my home state of Florida. Does this apply to purchases at gun shows as well? Or am I ok to buy a handgun there?

I've only worked for two agencies, one of which was for a very short time. I've often wondered how many arrests per year are average for other places. In truth, I'm curious about averages for most other stats too but that's a ton of info for one thread. We've got some guys (out of 15 on the road, 22 total sworn) barely averaging 30 for an entire year in a city of 10,000 in the heart of meth country. Those guys are furniture and drive me nuts. I'm at 50 thus far for 2013 and expect 120 or so for the year, which, for us, is a lot. I work hard, but I know I could probably be doing more. Also, I'm fully aware that one stat doesn't tell the whole story about an officer's productivity, this is simply a question to satisfy my curiosity.

So, what's normal for you? Agency size and the population of your jurisdiction would help put it in perspective.

Liberals want to know why the Tea Party votes against its own welfare and the rest of us; and why to them lies make more sense than facts. Liberals are confounded by all the prejudiced votes against Obama each time he proposes legislation that will help solve unemployment by putting people back to work, and each time he proposes a rational budget that includes eliminating tax favoritism for the already wealthy – both of which will serve to reduce the budget, and each time he proposes anything for the public good. Liberals don’t understand why the Tea Party prefers to obstruct Congress rather than make sense or help the country it professes to love.

Here's one place where the president didn't have a dramatic week: in his approval ratings. According to two polls — the Gallup daily tracking poll, and a CNN/ORC International poll released Sunday — Obama's approval rating has more or less remained steady as potential scandal upon potential scandal blew up the news cycle.

Looking for somewhere to conceal carry my Glock 20.

I am a huge guy. Think or Rode Island or Delaware, I cannot go there, don't fit. I am in Nebraska, and most places here, I can squeeze in. lol

I am 6'7" tall, 56" around at the waist, and look like Big Shows twin.

Most of my clothes fit tight already, because clothes are so hard to buy anyway, when you are this large.

So where to stuff a Glock 20?

How abut this solution?

http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/Pro...aspx?c=10&p=SA 472

I am not a fairy type, so a man bag has never entered my mind before, but I am stumped over my few choices.

I am not the briefcase type either, and I would hate to sit a briefcase down somewhere while shopping, eating out, etc. and forget it and walk away. This stays around your neck, and even fastens to your belt.

OK, here is where it gets dicey. Do I pick the bag color, to match my shoes, or my dinner jacket? lol

This is on the NRA store page it you guys want to start a Glock NRA Bag Club. GNBC, has a nice sound to it!
