Denver is inundated with these somali muslims. And a few of them from Denver have already made national news for trying to kill hundreds in foiled terrorist plots. As far as I'm concerned any muslim has the burden to prove to me that he is not a terrorist or sympathetic to them. Good luck.

Hello everyone! I bought a couple of Glock 26 factory (+2) extended magazines. I want to replace the Glock extensions with Pearce pinky extensions (+0).

The Glock (+2) factory mags don't have the rectangular flat inserts that are in the factory 10 round G26 magazines. I'm talking about the inserts that go between the coil and the floor plate.

Is it ok to just use the Pearce extensions without those rectangular flat inserts that go between the coil and the floor plate?

Thanks for the help!

So I'm having a custom knife built in S35VN here in the next month. I have heard both good and bad about this steel, but it seems like the hardness is the determining issue. Many common knife makers are using this steel in current production, but it seems like it is only hardened to 58-59. Is this sufficient hardness to bring out the best characteristics of this steel? I'm thinking about doing a 60 on my blade, as it seems like it will bring out a better edge without compromising the toughness.

What do you all say? What has been your experience with S35VN?

I bought a Buck Mark UFX a couple weeks ago. I've put around 300 flawless rounds through it so far. I am really impressed with the accuracy right out of the box. It is a great gun. I wanted a pistol to shoot that would not cost me an arm and a leg to shoot. I already had tons of 22lr for my 10/22 so the ammo shortage is not an issue right now.

When I grew up, I was always told that you return what you borrowed in the same condition or better. A fellow gun owner with a half dozen handguns borrowed one of mine to try out. The guy returns it filthy dirty...must have fired cheap ammo through it. Heck, I wouldn't mind if he said 'hey, I didn't feel comfortable tearing it down' or something. He just gave it back dirty as heck.

Same thing happened with a different friend that borrowed our carpet cleaner. He returned it filthy and with one of the plastic hand tools broken.

I just don't get it. I borrowed a pressure washer before getting my own. I ran it on a steep hill and burned out the motor...oil didn't get where it needed to go. I bought the guy a brand new one, same brand but better model as a replacement.

Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. Just wondering if folks still think the way that I was taught or if that's now old school...and yes, venting too.

First, let me say that the o-ring is used because I can not find my bag of new ones....:steamed: So yes I know I have to change that first and try to test fire again.

But Im having doubts that the 22" barrel can get enough pressure to cycle low brass game loads.

I have never shot a 3gun match but from what Ive seen, don't you need to be able to shoot bird shot on the clays and steel?

Passed Senate floor 11-10 on a party line vote, to assembly next.

Hearing?
Or vote?

Important difference, this late in the session bills can move very quickly.

It's an assembly hearing we will have a last chance to testify against it.

An identical version of the bill has to pass both houses to be eligible for a full floor vote,

Any last amendments we can put in helps to run the clock out as it would have to go back to the senate again.
----------
EDIT: I called the legislature since the NELIS site was not clear.
Next step is the assembly floor for assignment to a committee.
That will probably be the Ways & Means Committee due to the fiscal impact.
It could also be judiciary Committee do to it's impact on and conflict with other laws.
it might even go back to Health and Human Services.

A public hearing is REQUIRED when it gets to that next committee!
This will be our LAST CHANCE to testify against SB221, this is the one where we need HUNDREDS to show up.
No date set yet.

If we can prevent it passing the next committee vote it dies.
If the committee amends it, it has to go back to the senate for concurrence.
If the committee passes it the next stop is a full floor vote of both houses.
It could and should die there, but with the D's majority that is not assured.
I just confirmed that SB221 has been "Interpreted" to not be a tax measure, SO IT ONLY NEEDS A SIMPLE MAJORITY FOR PASSAGE!
This is flat out wrong, weather the "Fee" (Tax) is $30.00 as claimed or the $60.00 that reality dictates a "Fee" is a TAX!
That the "Fee' does not go to the that state (for now) does not make it any less of a tax on the persons paying those "Fee's". (Taxes).

Here is a link to the current language, https://www.leg.state.nv.us/Session/...B/SB221_R2.pdf

I do not want to have to count on Brian Sandoval to veto it.
The "Mental health" sham portion is only there to make it uncomfortable for our governor to veto, it's a nasty little political trick.
I went down to day and picked up a G26 extractor. When I got it home I noticed that it was a used one. The store is 65 miles away so I am reluctant on taking it back. Maybe I will just call them and tell them I am slightly dissatisfied.

Should I be concerned? Should I just used a G27 extractor in this set up?
Pat McNamara (Mac) has 22 years of Special Operations experience, 13 of which were in 1st SFOD-D. He has extensive experience in hostile fire/combat zones in the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. He trains individuals at basic and advanced levels of marksmanship and combat tactics.

When he worked in the premier special missions unit, he became an impeccable marksman, shooting with accurate, lethal results and tactical effectiveness. McNamara has trained tactical applications of shooting to people of all levels of marksmanship, from varsity level soldiers, and police officers who work the streets to civilians with little to no time behind the trigger.

His military experience quickly taught him that there is more to tactical marksmanship than merely squeezing the trigger. Utilizing his years of experience, McNamara developed a training methodology that is safe, effective and combat relevant and encourages a continuous thought process. This methodology teaches how to maintain safety at all times and choose targets that force accountability, as well as provides courses covering several categories, including individual, collective, on line and standards.
While serving as his Unit's Marksmanship NCO, he developed his own marksmanship club with NRA, CMP, and USPSA affiliations. Mac ran monthly IPSC matches and ran semi annual military marksmanship championships to encourage marksmanship fundamentals and competitiveness throughout the Army.

He retired from the Army's premier hostage rescue unit as a Sergeant Major and is the author of T.A.P.S. (Tactical Application of Practical Shooting).
2-Day Tactical Application of Practical Shooting (TAPS)

Course Overview:
Tactical shooting requires agile and adaptive thinkers able to handle the challenges of full spectrum operations in an era of persistent conflict. To meet this requirement, TAPS delivers a comprehensive, systematic, progressive Train-the-Trainer shooting program focused on fundamental mastery and built for Law Enforcement officers, military personal, and qualified civilians. Designed for leaders and trainers, the TAPS course also applies to the patrol-level officer, basic level Soldiers, and civilian self & home defense minded shooters. The approach to instruction is through coaching and mentorship and both demonstrates and transfers a training method that is safe, effective, combat relevant, and encourages a continuous thought process that demands accountability.

Training is conducted on the range and focuses on advanced refinement of the basic fundamentals of marksmanship as applied to the primary and secondary weapons systems. Utilizing a building block learning model, TAPS combines the pressures and dynamics of competitive shooting and tactical application. While course of instruction is on the firing range, the TAPS training approach also translates into training venues outside the range.

Course Outline:
The 2-day course offering provides the following training and instruction:
- Lecture on proper weapons handling and safety
- Refresh the fundamentals and grouping exercises
- Conduct a diagnostic course of fire
- Conduct a discussion on the importance of performing a focal shift during training and avoiding mundane drills that do not encourage a thought process
- Other topics covered and practiced are; grouping exercises with both primary and secondary weapon systems, target discrimination, use of barricades, movement, close quarter battle techniques, immediate action drills, ballistics 101, transitions, magazine changes
- Escalation of training and intensity will vary depending on number of students and their skill level though the core of the course will always remain the same
- This course is marksmanship intensive.

Hi guys and gals, I am the lucky receipient of a Colt Python .357. It was my uncles and he passed and left his truck, Jeep, and revolver to his son. His son could not get down to pick them up, so I ended-up with them. The gun is great, shoots good. It has 2 small spots of rust on it. It's stainless, what would be good to try to get rid of the rust?
Also, it came in a leather holster and belt that has ammo loops sewn into it. The ammo loops has ammo in them and the ammo and leather around the ammo has a green growth on them. Is there anything made I can clean the leather and ammo with?
Thanks :wavey:

Yesterday was Range Day for annual recert. I usually score a 98 or 99 with the Smif Fotie, but had a bit of a mishap this time around. I haven't shot an M&P or messed with a retention holster since last year's recert, unfortunately. On top of me being a bit rusty, we shot in the pouring rain, and I fumbled a bit with the retention hood on one sequence. The Rangemaster took 2 rounds, or a possible four points. I was pretty bummed out, knowing that the best I could do was a 96, but was bound and determined to get it. Wellll....... about two sequences later, the jackass in the lane to my right put a round into my target. I finished the course, and when they graded me..... I made a 97 out of a possible 96!

The Dodge Stealth finally crapped out (I will miss that car!!!). I am not a Chevy guy, but found what may be a great deal... Looking at a 1993 (yes I know it's old) GMC Silverado 2500 (3/4-ton, Regular cab/bed) with the 5.7L V8. Runs good, topper, AC is out...new U-joints in the last year, new battery, new tires, 99K miles. Minimal rust. $1200.....is this an ok risk/deal? How can I tell if it has xtra features like a tow package (it IS 2wd only)? Anyone with info on the engines/transmissions in these cars? What can I expect for MPG? Is the 1993 R12or R134 for AC coolant?
Thanks! :wavey:

Hello members,

Just got myself a beautiful Glock 29 last week and I love it. Went to the gun show Sunday and bought 100 rounds of cheap hollow point ammo (PPU) so I can't wait to go shooting.

In the picture, one magazine has the Pearce +2 mag extension for G29/30 glocks. The bullets in the picture are Hornady hollow points. Inside the trigger guard is a weaponized kiradashi I bought at a gun show from a NC knife maker.

I know education is first, and he's already of hot pursuit of that elusive degree. He's paying for school as he goes, and carries very small debt that is well managed.

But he works hard, and has some extra cash on any given month. He's been told by some that he needed a minimum of 5 grand to get started, but I know there has to be some out there that will take $100 to $500 at a time.

We're talking mutual funds, here. All eggs in one basket is a big no no.

Any suggestions?

So I recently couldn't stand it anymore and sold my PPQ "classic". I'm likely not ever going to own very many pistols, and decided I want push button...

So I recently couldn't stand it anymore and sold my PPQ "classic". I'm likely not ever going to own very many pistols, and decided I want push button mag releases, that can be switched over for a lefty, on all of them.

I originally sold the Q to get a Q M2, but made the mistake of going online and into several shops just to make sure it's really what I wanted (I should have known better :faint:).

I've ruled out all competition except for an M&P, either a Pro model (shorter barrel with night sights) or with an Apex trigger.

The ergos on the Q cannot be touched by anything in my hands. Between that and the awesome trigger, the PPQ shoots better for me than any other striker fired pistol I've ever shot. In fairness though, I have little experience with timers, etc. so I don't have much to compare it to in that regard.

The M&P brings less muzzle flip to the party. I do believe the Q has got a bad rap with all the "snappy", "wrist breaking", "violent recoil" internet claims, but to say it doesn't exist at all, when comparing to an M&P or Glock is simply to live in denial IMO.

While the M&P feels OK in my hands, it pales in comparison to the majestic wonder that is the PPQ grip, clearly inspired by the "Gods of ergos". It's also been rumored that even an Apex kit still isn't as good as the PPQ trigger, though I've never tried one.

Now my dilemma: Finding a place to rent both an M&P (either Pro model or with an Apex trigger) and a PPQ, both in 9MM, is going to be tough.

All said, what really matters more -- better ergos and trigger, or less muzzle flip? I know this will be subjective, but insight is still appreciated.

This gun will make it's living in home defense, classes, possibly low level competition, possible occasional carry, etc.

Thanks!

If anyone else is down this way, I'm here until Friday AM, bouncing back home then. It's a great trip, by the way. Went snorkeling and swam with dolphins today. Kids will be talking about this trip for quite some time. Wife just got pics of an osprey flying over our condo building, and I got some shots of the manta rays in the surf right in front of our condo. We also saw some F-22's out of Tyndall AFB this morning - good deal, since I'm a USAF junkie.

Gombey - I'll be heading back thru your AO Friday - we will likely stop for food there again. Did that on the way down, and I see that city is still a craphole...guess I shouldn't expect things to change for the better, huh? My sister was born at UAB, and Mom got her BSN there, as well.

I will be paying a visit back home on the way home...if that makes sense. I spend a few years as a kid in Walker county (Nauvoo, for those that know the area), and credit those times for making me into the man I became. I think back of living in the country fondly, and will be back there as soon as my youngest is eighteen (12 short years). I haven't been back home in almost 20 years, and am looking forward to the side trip.

Wifey wishes to stop in Lynchburg once back in TN, as she's a JD fan. So much so, that she had a bit too much, and was a grumpy little hungover bear yesterday

Anyway, if anyone is down in Santa Rosa or Escambia counties, hit me up. Wish we could come over to Mobile to see ya, BT, but not this trip. If anyone cares, I can post some pics of stuff we've seen. There's some nice vids of the dolphin trip, and other stuff. Having a great time, and this is exactly what we needed.

Oh, and it's our 16th anniversary today - things were such just a few short months ago, that I didn't think this day would come. Yay!!!

Lust- Characterized by desire for physical sex usually at any cost. The reproductive yearning plays a strong role. Danger is that a one night stand will result in reproduction but no family for the child and so harmful to society. In these days of birth control I wonder if it's still relevant.

Gluttony- Characterized by over eating and denying other people a fair share. Very common in modern civilization we see the characteristics in ourselves and neighbors in the form of fat 'asses'.

Greed- Characterized by the desire for things whether material or other, the main characteristic being that while greed covets things it is never satisfied by those things and thus always craving more. Effect on the human personality is that the greedy can never be satisfied.

Sloth- Characterized by laziness of some sort. Results are that other people have to work harder creating a burden on other people.

Wrath- Hatred and such is irrational and leads to irrational acts like homicide and all manner of man slaughter and violence. The main danger is that in lashing out recklessly the wrathful destroy themselves even if not their enemy. We see this a lot in foreign affairs, civil affairs, and family affairs. It is almost always harmful.

Envy- I think this overlaps with greed. Wanting things that you do not possess ensures that you are never satisfied with what you have.

Pride- The desire or belief that you are better than others. This belief has variously resulted in people behaving 'condescendingly towards other or even in 'ethnic cleansing' on the macro scale. I could write about this one all day but I'd just be paraphrasing from the Tao Te Ching.

Lets get this discussion going and see if we can come to some ethical questions and psychological aspects completely free of religious overtone. Is this 7 deadly sin concept a plan for happy, content, and fulfilled living polluted with spiritual overtones? Or is it a theological teaching having some small amount of psychological wisdom concealed in it?
