*In the thread questioning whether God/Jesus were Creative failures another GT'er questioned me when I stated that many cycles of re-creating...

In the thread questioning whether God/Jesus were Creative failures another GT'er questioned me when I stated that many cycles of re-creating humanity (Adam-Eve/ Cain-Abel/ Noah -The Flood, etc.) seemed to occur at the expense of the relatively innocent, already created human beings,

The response cited scriptures related to The Crucifixion and made me think of the following;

-----

Not sure why you are citing the scriptures regarding the crucifixion of Jesus.

Most Christians cite it to show an example of great sacrifice.

However, when viewed objectively, it is not all that it is cracked up to be.

First and foremost, it is not as if the Romans or Judas, or Christ, had a choice, (…well, I presume, that as Creator, and as the wonderful old hymn says, He could have called 10,000 angels and backed out at the last minute, but...) it was Christ's destiny in the world He created that brought about His Crucifixion. It was foretold and prophesied since the Old Testament that somebody ( some marionette ) out of the world of human beings was doomed to be the one to betray Christ. Somebody had to betray Christ and then somebody had to kill him. Certainly when considering a situation that is foretold as one that must come to pass in order to usher in a new beginning, there was little to no free will involved in the decisions of the people playing the parts of betrayers. In the case of poor Judas, Christ's foretelling of this destiny even narrowed it down to 1 out of 12 that would betray Him. ...sickening to contemplate how bad Judas felt after betraying not only his good friend, but the nicest person on the planet. Especially if Judas was just a pawn playing a role that some poor sap unlucky enough to be alive at the time of Christ had to do.

The trouble with most Christians is they are too intellectually dishonest to connect the dots between an omniscient and omnipotent Creator that can foresee the future He has created, and the lack of true freewill for the created beings within such a construct.

Secondly, as absolutely horrific as it is, the actual physical pain that is capable of being suffered by a human being nailed to a stick for one day is nowhere near the levels of pain that are endured by vast numbers of modern human beings EVERY DAY, AT ANY GIVEN TIME, somewhere on this planet.

Thirdly, all of the physical pain and emotional (“Father why have you forsaken me”) turmoil was (relatively speaking) easily overcome by the simple fact that Christ knew who he was, and the reason for His sacrifice. Specifically, Christ knew He was immortal, and knew He would go to Heaven when He died and be a king of the Universe forever.
Furthermore, with Christ knowing the reason for His sacrifice, we now have to consider the aspect of Christianity (applicable to all) that a noble purpose often goes a long way in assuaging the pain of torture and death, especially if it is the MOST noble purpose ever. This stands in stark contrast when compared to the millions that have died horrible deaths relatively in vain, … Christ knew why He was being nailed to a stick, he knew it was worth it, …and He knew he would rise again.
Despite pious thinking, no other human being has been given the luxury of knowing some wonderful thing is going to happen to them after they die, and that they are dying for the greatest cause for which one has ever died, …let alone knowing they are the Alpha and Omega.

In conclusion, how does such a relatively small sacrifice rise to such elevated heights, let alone absolve mankind of all wrongdoing.
…and if Jesus created everything, including and especially our propensity for sin, …isn’t forgiveness something that is owed to us?

What do you think?

Hi
My wife shoots a G19 3rd gen and I'm looking to add a couple mods to bring up the performance level of it. I installed the PRP trigger kit on my XDs and XDm , is there a trigger kit and performance barrel I can install on her G19 , also what kind of sights would you recommend to replace the stock sights, not that she does bad with the stock ones. Just looking to pick up her interest in keeping her shooting. I put a #16 recoil spring in it last week as she has bad arthritis in her hands and it made it easier for her to rack the slide. Any ideas would be appreciated along with a good source for Glock 3rd party performance parts.
Thanks you

This is only one test. I broke out the chronograph for the first time this year and had an opportunity to test Underwood's 357 Sig 125 gr. GD out of a 4.5" G32, and Underwood's 9x25 Dillon 125 gr GD out of a 4.6" converted G20.

5-Shot average for the 357 Sig was 1,611 fps (unbelievable), and the 5-shot average of the 9x25 was 1,646 fps. Yea, I know the 9x25 was a little faster, but not by much.

But again, this is only one test with one box of ammo each and only one barrel for each.

Other news - There have been some problems with Underwoods 357 Sig ammo failure to fire. I called and Kevin said he received a batch of hard primers, and there will not be any problems with ammo going forward.

Eric's Simpsons thread got me thinking. Who actually still has a paper phone book?

I tossed them for several years, and kept the most recent one. I can Google the number for any business in the world and call it from my phone in less time than it takes me to walk to the shelf with the phone book, but something about having the information HERE appeals to me. If cell towers or my satellite internet/wifi go down, I still have that information here on site. In such a situation, whether my phone would work or not is another story.

It’s been a bad week for Barack Obama, and things just got worse. On top of the growing scandals over the I.R.S. targeting conservative groups and the Justice Department snooping on journalists, the president has just received a major constitutional reprimand from the federal courts over his dubious exercise of executive power.

According to the Constitution, the president must seek the “advice and consent” of the Senate when filling certain government positions. The president may only bypass this confirmation requirement in those rare cases where a temporary appointment is needed to "fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate." This is known as the president’s recess appointment power.

In a decision handed down Thursday morning, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit ruled that Obama violated the Constitution by making a recess appointment to the National Labor Relations Board in 2010 when the Senate was not actually in recess. In an unprecedented move two years later, when the Senate was holding pro forma sessions for the precise purpose of denying him the lawful ability to make a recess appointment, Obama simply ignored this legal impediment and made four purported recess appointments anyway, including the addition of three members to the NLRB.

Drapetomania was a supposed mental illness described by American physician Samuel A. Cartwright in 1851 that caused black slaves to flee captivity.

The mental illness myth which is their central social controlling myth, built on the belief we are biological robots disconnected from a dead nature. This brutal system is deliberately traumatizing, and when inevitably psychological distress occurs, this vile evil toxic myth makes out that it is a biological disease which needs medical treatment.

If anyone questions the integrity of proven liars in media and government they also can be deemed "mentally ill" and in need of 'treatment'. One of their bogus diagnoses is termed "oppositional defiance disorder"! Disobedience is a disease! This reminds me of the bogus 'mental illness' label they accused slaves of if your dared escape from their 'master'--drapetomania.

I went to my local LEO supply store today. Just to look and see what they may have in used/trade-ins/blue labels.

And I walked out with a brand new Gen 4. Well, at least it LOOKS brand spanking new. It's a blue label, it has night sights, and it cost me 455.00 bucks

Now the challenge is, which one is it from the pictures here:
for ease of reference, the Glock 19 will always be on the left, and the 17 will always be on the right.

One is a year older than the other (give or take less than a month). Which is which?

Either way, I am very happy with what I walked out with. It still has all the copper anti seize on it, the back straps and all the accessories that came with it new. The only indication that it had some warranty work done on it is the label glock puts on the side of their boxes when they are in line for the armorers.

With lot of help from youtube i could reassemble it again, i tested thoroughly and everything seems to be working great but it makes me wonder if is still safe to have this gun loaded, considering it was assembled by a total rookie like me.

A buddy who shoots Glocks at the police matches, took it with him to one of their shoots. Three different excellent shooters tried it out, all said it shot dead on for them.
I don't have this problem with the 1911, so I must be doing something wrong.
I am using the same sight picture, but apparently I'm doing something stupid.
I'm not a newbie, been shooting handguns for 40+ years.
This thing has me stumped.
Any ideas?

Thanks avery

Looking for some input on a new earpiece. I have started looking around and I like the Nighthawk and how it's bluetooth. However, I don't like the price (at over 200$). The Hawk earpiece from the earphoneconnection seems to be a great alternative as a replacement to my standard boom mic.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these systems or recommend any? Thanks!

Kid is playing near the one in the living room. Wife hears BEEP BEEP BEEP. Kid says "uh-oh".
Wife runs over and gets him out of it before he pulls the gun out. G34, full mag, empty chamber.

What are the odds of a kid randomly trying this sort of sequence?
Maybe he saw me open it once? I test open each one about once every other month. I don't think he saw, but kids pick up on the smallest things sometimes.

Is this too much of a good thing? We always talk about penetration being desirable, but if a 180 JHP penetrates well, a 200 gr hard cast LFP at 1000 fps may act like a drill. It would deliver quite the energy punch though, wouldn't it?

A 200 gr .400 bullet at 1000 fps must approach the old lead 210 gr .41 mag duty rd in effectiveness at some point, yes? All we're missing is .145 thousandths on either side of the bullet, but I don't remember the velocity they loaded to.

BB claims it's not a lead-in-Glock bullet issue because it's hard cast. 'Slips' through the barrel at lower pressure than jacketed. That sounds good.

Or maybe I'm just really excited.
Made a few of my IWBs. Those were turning out really good.
Now I really wanted to try a simple kydex OWB and I nailed it on the first try. Tinkered with the tension a bit by heating and stretching the kydex but I couldn't ask for more.
Clips on easy outside the belt. I love it!
Just had to show everyone my new project

I don't have a data plan with my service so I cant send and receive mms photos. I do connect to the internet with my phone by wifi. My parents have AT&T and when they send me a picture I get a text message with a link to follow and that link connects me to the internet and the picture on a web page. What kind of service is this that puts the picture on the web and sends the link by text message. Is this available to me and my Android Jelly Bean phone? Some sort of app or something?

I am wondering about .44 special cases. I don't have any. Good source for these, other then buying the very expensive loaded .44 special rounds.

I was driving my bus in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and as I was driving down Somerset Ave I stopped at the red light at Frankford Ave(Major drug section)I see in my mirror a speeding pick up come to a quick stop behind me because on Somerset Ave you are not getting around my 60ft bus. Right behind him was a Police cruiser with lights and sirens, both cops jumped out and ran up on the driver and passenger with guns drawn. The cops pulled them out and put them in the street chest down and cuffed them.

See my bus fights crime you know:supergrin:
