What I'm surprised about is that the missed round hit a neighbors property.

I wonder if he should have been charged for that, or if the neighbor will press charges (what kind of charges could be filed?) and seek a civil suit for the medical costs and emotional distress caused to his family and daughter specifically.

I have a 13 year old daughter and I do take her shooting. In the house I trust she knows the locations of the guns I have stashed and she could defend herself if needed. But, in the event she is not near one, I want her to have options.

I also have concerns for her safety when she rides the bus too and from school as there is a bit of a walk involved getting to and from the bus stop. There have been instances in the past where kids have been approached or talked to by guys in trucks or vans near the bust stop. Not very common but worrying about self defense only when you need it is counterproductive to personal security. She also goes places with her mom and aunt that I would like her to be able to protect herself.

The question is, how? I was thinking a key chain pepper spray. Being such a small container I want it to be a durable, reliable, and effective brand. She doesn't carry a purse yet so it needs to fit in a pocket atleast. As I have no experience with this stuff I was hoping for some insight from all of you.

I checked Texas law and it is legal to carry with no restrictions except in size. Its says "It is permissible to possess a "small chemical dispenser sold commercially for personal protection". 10 Texas Penal Code Section 46.01 (14). "

So, any recommendations? This was the first sight swap I have done, and it went pretty smoothly. Did it pretty much caveman style - steel punch, no vise, slide resting on a roll of 100mph tape. I used a small brass hammer though, which helped to avoid putting too much oomph into it. Really liking these sights!

Comparing full size & subcompact, I feel subcompact comes back on target quicker than full size.
After two recent GSSF matches (two matches are not much to make any conclusion though I just started) with 31, 33, 21, & 30, I did better with subcompacts.
I am not sure if I did better with subcompact because I first shot full size then subcompact (31 then 33, & 21 then 30). Or is it just coincidence?

Many competitors seem to like full size (or 34/35) that I am guessing due to the longer sight radius for accuracy.

That's so far I've noticed.
I do not have any compacts (yet).

What do you think?
Are there any other differences besides their size?
What are the facts?
Any physics explanations?

Took it shooting the other day and the first 30 or so rounds I had no issue. Then I had a failure to feed where the bullet didn't even come close to feeding. I figured ok, just breaking it in a bit. Then I had a bullet try to feed but wouldn't. I tried different mags and it would not feed into the G27. I examined the bullet and it appeared to be fine. So I pulled out my G22 and it fed no problem. Took out the Springfield XDm and again no issue. Try to chamber it into the G27 and it just wouldn't feed right. I put the bullet in my pocket and decided to take it home for further inspection.

So I decided to keep shooting. I then had a couple more failure to feeds where the bullet wouldn't even come close to chambering. Now I've put over 4,000 rounds through my Glock 22 alone and I have never had this issue. I decided to really grip the G27 tight and once I did that everything seemed to feed fine. Was given to me by my father today. He got it on the cheap several years and never did anything with it. I normally wont accept anything money wise from my folks, but I held my tongue and just took it today.

I am covered up to my elbows in the stuff but its cleaned up and lubed now.

Only came with two mags, so I need to start looking for some soon. I was very glad to see it did not have an issue with the front sight being canted. As far as AK's go it was pretty accurate also.

The stock is pretty pitiful. Its got a lot of cosmoline soaked up into it and the grain of the wood is pretty awful.

Haven't made my mind up if I want to take the wood off and set it out in the sun, then try to refinish or just put a synthetic stock on it.

Hopefully the mag crisis has died enough I can locate some spares.
