Dan, thanks for your kind offer; looking at the Glock Parts Suppliment to my Armorers Manual, the 1981 is just the extended magazine release-the one that I was discussing/trying (unsuccessfully) to get is the "mid-length" magazine release, produced specifically for the FBI. It's not a catalogued item, and EXTREMELY difficult for those even in the Glock heirarchy to get. I do relaize, of course, that I could achieve the same result by going with a 1981, and filing/grinding it down a bit-but that would be too simple a solution.

Many thanks for your kind offer.

I got the 1981 mag releases in my last order. I still have a few if you want one I can ship some to you.

I have not placed an order with Glock since I attened the Advance Armorer's course in July. I will be placing an order soon and I will add the 1981 to my order as I normally keep these in stock (the old full size mag release) along with the new full size mag release.
I'll let you know what I get.

    Best regards,

    Dan

Dan, when I spoke with Glenn Wisser and Dave Mallery specifically about the #1981 magazine release, they were unable to get the part for me; Glock apparently (actually specifically, at least as of about 2 months ago) were NOT providing the part for commercial/non-LEO sales. Has this policy changed? Have you personally been able to get the part? Is the part now available through the normal Glock Parts Department to Armorers/individuals?

    Best, Jon Stein
