PART ONE: Is It Wrong To Disobey An Unjust Law?
Well, ....... disobedience occurs on, at least, three different levels of being: physical, intellectual, and spiritual.
Physical disobedience can be either intellectual or spiritual - possibly both. Intellectual disobedience can be limited to academic, or mental rejection. As such intellectual disobedience is often moot, and of little durable consequence.
So, what type of disobedience holds the most dire consequences? That would be spiritual disobedience! I'm a Christian. Whenever I'm confronted with either the act or consequence(s) of disobedience I'm reminded of Christ's pertinent remark; 'Fear not them who can kill the body, but not the soul.' 'Rather fear Him who has the power to destroy BOTH body and soul in Hell.' (Matthew 10:28)
It is NOT possible to be a Christian in the devil's world (today's world) without, also, being disobedient. Today, in fact, it is becoming progressively more and more difficult for every true Christian not to disobey, at least, some dictate of secular worldly government.
Contrary to popular western world opinion it is not a matter of allowing others to, 'live and let live'. Good, and evil; light, and darkness were never meant to be treated as an intellectual collage. Instead, today's increasing popular world view is, 'It's OK to be anything you like, ....... EXCEPT a Christian or a Jew.'
Homo, lesbo, transvestite, chic pedophile, pornographer, sun worshipper, 'good witch', (Wiccan) or whatever other, once-upon-a-time, sordid character someone wants to be, it's all OK! Just don't annoy the government, or your neighbors, by trying to be a Christian or a Jew.
OBEDIENCE WHERE YOU CAN, and DISOBEDIENCE WHERE YOU CANNOT are, each, foundational articles of true Judeo-Christian faith. Furthermore, a careful reading of Sacred Scripture reveals that God, Himself, is going to reach out and protect all those who remain faithful to Him, and rigorously petition for His divine intervention.
(Read the little known and widely neglected biblical passages on the fate of those who refuse to take the mark of the beast. Unlike those who take the mark, they are NOT utterly consumed! For True Believers the current and impending world situation is far from hopeless!)
