Help with Model 21 Gen3. Won't feed.

Posted 04-14-2012 at 13:22 by a_cement_mixer

I have had a Model 21 gen2 for about 11 years now. Wonderful Glock perfection. The most reliable gun I have ever owned. For several years I have been admiring the tactical rail on the gen3 and gen4. So two weeks ago I purchase a used Model 21 gen3. The problem. It won't reliably feed all types of ammo like my gen2. After countless hours of evaluation and shooting every combination of ammo and mags, I found a problem. The barrel feed ramp. If I put my gen2 barrel on my new gen3 frame the gun is as reliable as my 11 yr old gun. How can this be? I put the gen3 barrel back on the gen3 frame and the gun won't feed reliably. I took it to the gunshop where I bought it. They polished the ramp feed. Didn't fix anything. They gave me brand new mags. Actually worse. ANy ADvise? I want to sell the old gen2 and have the gen3 with the tactical rail. Would it be a bad idea to sell the old gen2 and put the crap gen3 barrel on it? Not sure what to do. Would Glock fix it if I sent it to them?
