G-17 RTF2 first range trip
I recently picked up a consecutive S/N# set of G-17 RTF2s. One is to be a range beater, the other is a spare I guess.
It performed flawlessly as anyone should expect. I fired it on the move, around cover, under the truck, standing, sitting, kneeling, one handed, weak handed, you name it.
It was a windy South Texas day and it got a little dusty, but nothing I would consider excessive.
I lubed it before the session with Breakfree CLP, it recieved no other attention after that.
I fired:
-400 rounds of 115 grain WWB
-50 rounds of 147 grain WWB JHP
-20 rounds of 124+p Winchester PDX-1
-29 rounds of 147+p Federal HST
No malfunctions were experienced, feeding, extraction and ejection were perfect with all of my 17 round Glock mags. The 124+p had a little more felt recoil than the others, but it's still a soft shooter.
I'm going to keep this going to track the rounds and performance of this gun. I usually only shoot IDPA and informal training with some local guys.
That puts me at 499 rounds.
