When all else fails....
I am the owner of a 1995 Land Rover. Wonderfully capable, it can get me from point A to point B in a straight line. No matter what is in my way, it can get there.
As long as 'there' is either a the back of a tow truck or the mechanic's shop. I have loved my old piece of crap Esuvee for just over three years. I've been justifying it's continued limp-wristed existence by one simple factor: financial.
So far, the overall cost of ownership has been less than the cost of a new car. However, that is based also on the module of time of a month. I think that I should move that to something more manageable... like a day.
I'm pretty sure the current total cost of ownership has slipped into the realm of 'Are you kidding me?!?!' from 'AGAIN?!'
I think next weekend is the time for the Land Rover to give up the ghost. Dirt nap!

I had an 84' Corvette that I could no longer justify the cost of ownership. It was a daily driver that literally just began to fall apart. I drove it over 150 miles per day. I did all the preventative maintenance as required. It started with electrical problems, transmission, rear end, suspension, alternator, power steering, etc. I averaged over $ 500 a month in repairs for about 8 months. When it's time it's time.
Good luck to you. Hope you find what fits your needs.Posted 04-06-2011 at 07:47 by RightGlock1
