i got my #2 branch choice - ordnance. i am pleased with it and am looking forward to getting to BOLC 2 & 3 and meeting up with all the buddies i have across the USA that also got branched ordnance. i have talked to a number of my friends from LDAC and LTC and many of them have also been branched ordnance.
i am excited about this branch for 3 reasons.
1. i have a great job as an army officer, where i will be able to lead soldiers and have a reputable career.
2. there are many jobs that are available to an ordnance officer in the us army.
3. there are many jobs that hire logisticians out of the army, if i decide i dont want to pull 20 years.
if i decide i want to get out after 7 or 8 years, i can get into law enforcement at the federal level or get a job working with a number of logistical companies. the 3 logistics branches in the army are ordnance, transportation, and quartermaster. these are 3 of the most lucrative branches in terms of getting out and finding a great job in the civilian sector.
so the branch selections are in and i am going to be an ordnance officer. i am going to go to EOD school and be an explosive ordnance officer.

Good luck in school! Just remember...don't eat any icecream before your tests! If the instructors ask you to spell "Doritos'...kindly tell them to pound sand. D-O-R...
EOD is an excellent MOS to have. When and if you decide to get out...the job field is endless. |
