Pain, What pain? Update.
This was the surgery performed on my wife last month. A surgical entry was made from the front of her throat, avoiding damage to windpipe, arteries, and nerves. A degenerate disck was removed. Another surgical entry was made in her abdomen. From that, something was extracted and her stem cells were isolated. In the neck, a titanium cage shaped as a healthy disk and containing a bit of cadaver bone and sprinkled with her stem cells was inserted between the two vertebra and a titanium bracket was screwed into place with titanium screws. Her surgical incisions were glued together and after 4 hours in recovery she was sent home with a cervical collar and a bunch of meds. The collar can come off this week after 4 weeks, and the pain is gone. Her mind is back, as well, and the generosity of my employer (medical insurance) and the progress of medical science have delivered a cure. The surgeon warned her that she'd lose 7% of her range of motion, and that none of his patients have ever complained about that. Her new parts are compatible with MRI examns, too.
